WordPress blogs are considered eye candy to the search engines. It’s an awesome blogging platform on which you can build incredible looking blogs that rank well on the major search engine sites like Google, Bing, and Yahoo. There are literally millions of wordpress blogs out there on the internet but the trouble is most of them don’t really get any significant traffic. Most webmasters know very little about traffic generation,SEO or even internet marketing in general. A big role in that is because of bad setup and not having some of the top wordpress plugins that are available.

Here are a couple of the top wordpress plugins to get you started

All in One SEO Pack-This top wordpress plugin has a free version and is good for optimizing your blog’s homepage and individual pages for keywords you want to rank for. Google XML Sitemaps-This top wordpress plugin is essential because it makes it easier for Google, Yahoo, and Bing to index your blog. All you have to do is install it, activate it, then go to the plugins section to create your own sitemap. It will then notify Google and the other search engines that you’ve updated your blog. This plugin will make it easier for the search engine bots to crawl your site more efficiently and see the overall structure of your blog.

LinkWithin– You’ll notice after you’re been blogging for awhile that a lot of your blog posts get buried into no mans land once they are archived, linked within is an awesome tool to bring life to your old blog posts. This plugin is FREE, ( I have this plugin on my blog ) and what I really like about it is they come with pictures as well, which will grab your readers attention and encourage them to read similar posts.

CommentLuv-This neat little plugin will visit the site of the person who commented on your blog and pull up their latest blog posts which they can choose to include at the bottom of their comment. This is a great way to attract and encourage people to comment on your blog. There are also some advanced features as well.

SEOPressor– This awesome SEO plugin will tell you how to optimize your posts to dominate the search engines! It will give you a score out of 100 for your on-page optimization for whatever keyword you input. It also gives you a checklist of things to optimize.

PopUp Domination-If you want to increase your blog subscribers and build a list, then this plugin is the tool to do it. It simply allows a lightbox to “popup” when people visit your blog. This is an easy way to get your lead flow going right away. I guarantee you it’s worth every penny.

So here is just a small list of some of the top wordpress plugins to get you started, if you’re serious about building a successful wordpress blog, then you need to make the most of these plugins. Blogging can seem puzzling at times but plugins will make things a little easier, they essentially add functionality to your blog to make it run a little smoother as well as optimize it for peak performance.
