You are reading this Scentsy review because you’re online looking for more information on the company before you join or you’re presently a rep looking for an expert opinion regarding your business decision. Well you’ve landed on the right site. In this brief but value packed review I’ll go over a couple things about Scentsy including the company background, their product line, how you make money with the opportunity and if this is a good company to get started with.
Before I go further, I want to let you know that I’m not a distributor or even some one who buys their products.
Who Is Scentsy?
Scentsy is a network marketing company that markets a broad range of decorative warmers and aromatic candles. Back in 2004 it was a small company that was bought from entrepreneurs Heidi and Orville Thompson where it was then moved to Meridian, Ohio. Since then they have expanded operations in Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada, and Europe.
On December 1st Forbes magazine named Scentsy to its 2011 list of America’s 100 most promising companies. It ranked #66 on the list that also featured privately held up-and-comers with compelling business models, strong management teams, notable customers, strategic partners and precious investment capital.
What does Scentsy market?
Contrary to popular belief, the Scentsy products are not actually candles. Scentsy reps don’t actually market candles but innovative wax warmers, wax bars, room sprays, hand sanitizer along with other accessories. Their products are unique for the fact they don’t have a flame or wick.
What is so unique about the Scentsy products is the fact that they offer more than the conventional wick and flame candles that you find in stores. This is why so many people buy their products and consultants have success selling them.
That being said, I’ve read a few complaints from disappointed customers that have stated that the wax warmers can get pretty hot at times. But I’ve also heard of customers claiming that they have left their warmers on all day long and haven’t had any problems with them being hot. The customers that have had experiences with the candle warmers overheating might have received defective candles.
The Scentsy Business Opportunity
You can get started with Scentsy as soon as you pay your entry fee, which is around $100. After that you will be required to purchase $150 worth of product every 6 months. Like with any other network marketing company, this is what reps commonly call “auto-ship” which you’ll have to be on to stay an active associate.
You can make as much as 30% commissions on all of your personal sales, as well as team overrides. To maximize the compensation plan you need to sponsor new reps into your Scentsy business on a regular basis. A big part of the company culture is hosting home parties and teaching your team to do the same.
In closing, Scentsy is a really good company. They have good leadership at the helm, a unique product line and a good compensation plan. That being said, having all of that in place is not enough to succeed. Having a credible company with a unique product line is definitely critical to your business, but essentially your success in any business will depend on your ability to sponsor and recruit new people into your business, market the company products to acquire customers, and to get your team to do the same. I recommend you use a proven attraction marketing system that allows you to brand yourself, generate leads, make money off of the people that say no to your business and sponsor people into your backend opportunity.
