Network marketing is an awesome business model for the average person to use. I love the concept of making money off of the people under me. The idea is to have a whole lot of people under you doing a couple of simple things on a daily basis over an extended period of time. The more people that you have on your team the quicker you can quit your job or retire. All of that being said, without a steady flow of network marketing leads coming in on a daily basis, you probably wont be in business for that long.

How do you generate network marketing leads?

Offline methods of marketing are harder to leverage compared to a lot of the online methods of today. A lot of the offline methods are great for people who have more time on their hands and who are very outgoing. It is true that online methods of marketing may take longer to learn but will payoff in spades when mastered, some of the online methods require you to do the work only once, but can pay you for years to come. In the rest of this article I’ll explain to you some of these methods in detail.

If you have any experience in network marketing, you have probably been told to make a list of friends and family, and people you may know that are in various occupations. This is what you call your “warm market”. These are the first people that they want you to share your opportunity and products with. I know firsthand how frustrating this can be, because what do you do when you run out of people to talk to?

Another a way to get network marketing leads for your business is buying leads from lead brokers. This is usually the route the most people take when they run out of warm market people to talk to. A lot of people have grown massive downlines with this strategy, but it can burn a hole in your pocket if you are not careful. The problem with this offline strategy is that it will take a lot of time and money to master. Another thing is if your not good at following up with people then you just won’t be that effective.

Another offline method that you may see network marketers doing is prospecting at malls and gas stations. This method requires a skill set that a lot of people don’t have. Most people are just not that comfortable with talking to strangers. You have probably heard of the “3-foot rule”, you know, share your opportunity with anybody within 3 feet. I’m not saying this method doesn’t work, but it only works for a select few.

Now it’s time for some online marketing strategies

Online network marketing is a more leveraged marketing strategy. There are over 2 billion people with internet access in the world so I’m pretty sure you can imagine the potential in that. The important thing to understand is that you need to have a more leveraged approach to this type of strategy. You want to automate most of the process so you don’t have to personally talk to every one of your potential prospects.

Here is a simple analogy to explain what I’m talking about. Lets say for example you had 50 prospects coming to you on a daily basis wanting more information about your business opportunity. You wouldn’t have a lot of time to devote to other parts of your business because you would be too busy talking to your prospects. Having a webpage online will automate the process for you. Just imagine being able to share your business plan with 15,000 people a day. This is how people generate massive amounts of leads on the internet rather quickly.

What should be my plan of attack?

The important thing is to focus on one marketing strategy that you like and master it. You don’t want to try to be a “jack of all trades” and a master of none. Stick with one method and make sure that you track everything that you are doing so you know what is working and what isn’t. You just need to find out what strategy works for you and your business, it might takes some time to find what strategy works for you, but you’ll find the one.

Deciding what marketing strategy is effective will depend on who you are and what line of business you are in. Some people find a lot of the online methods to be to confusing and intimidating, while others find a lot of the offline methods to be frustrating and too time consuming. Both of the methods work, its just about figuring how to make them work for you and your business.
