It’s a fact that you’re going to have to spend money on your business even if you plan on doing a free marketing strategy. But you don’t have to go broke either, in this post I’ll go over a few cost effective ways to promote your content.
The first thing you want to do after you’ve published a blog post is to push it out to the various social networks and social bookmarking sites. I use a service called Onlywire which will submit your posts to around 45 social media sites. You can setup an account and get your first 200 submissions free. You can also upgrade if need be. Another service I use is TribePro (not as cost effective), which is really powerful because you can have OTHER bloggers (tribe members) sharing your content to their onlywire accounts. Here’s a blog post I wrote than you can check out right here. Even though TribePro isn’t that cost effective I thought I would bring it up since we are on the subject of social backlinks.
A second cost effective way to promote your content is with SocialMonkee. This is one of my secret weapons, this used to be a free service but now I think it’s like $7, but it’s well worth every penny. For a one time fee of $7 you can submit 1 URL a day and get 25 backlinks. They also try to upsell you on a few things as well, I actually plan on upgrading to their premium membership which is a little more than $7.
Another way to promote your content is to comment on commentluv blogs. This is a great way to promote your fresh content. I would do about 10 of these per post. Make sure you comment on blogs that actually get traffic and have a following. Here’s an awesome post I read the other day that explains what type of commentluv enabled blogs you should leave comments on,click here.
Share your content in the various facebook groups. I pulled up my analytics account the other day and was shocked to see how many visitors I was getting to my site from the groups on facebook. It works. Make sure you post in groups that have a lot of active members.
There you go, a few easy and cost effective ways to promote your content. Let me know in comments section below if you have any thing you can add.
